"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires...
"So, I'm supposed to write something about my teaching practice...Well, I've have had my teaching practice in a senior high school and a junior high school so far. In both types of schools I felt great:) When it comes to the first lesson in a senior high school, and the first lesson is said to be very stressful, I must admit that I didn't feel anxious and I didn't break out in a cold sweat when I stood in front of 20 young people staring at me:) I just said to them nicely, "Hello, it seems that I'm gonna be your teacher today. Are you scared? No? You should be..." and the whole lesson was quite good:) But too short:) Lessons should last 60 minutes! I was a bit scared when I was to teach in a junior high school because everyone kept telling me that students in junior high were terrible, very disobedient and rude. But it turned out that it wasn't so bad and I went through it successfully, without any litter bin on my head:) I thought students would be throwing books or chairs but, to my surprise, nothing like this happened:) My students were mostly boys and they were very polite and friendly:) To tell the truth I was a bit sad when I had to finish my teaching practice in these schools. I wanted to stay with these kids because, contrary to popular belief, young people aren't as bad as we think and believe they are. For me, they just need understanding and somebody to believe in them and not somebody who will keep repeating that they are terrible and hopeless. Adults have to try to look for something good in children and to show them that they can be good people. It's not difficult, really;)
When I was in my primary school, I wanted to be a teacher. When I was in my secondary school, I still wanted to be a teacher. Then I came to our College and in the beginning I felt discouraged by everything that I met here. And I didn't want to be a teacher anymore. I didn't know who I wanted to be. But then I started my teaching practice and I now I'm sure who I want to be. I want to be a teacher. I want to be a teacher who inspires...:)
